Together with Channel 4 Britdoc Foundation, Puma.Creative launches a new initiative to support documentary films. The new Puma.Creative Documentary Awards will be in aid of documentaries highlighting creative, social justice, peace or
environmental issues, and will provide financial support, creative counsel and industry recognition.
It’s a first the two are teaming up and the collaboration involves a number of key awards and programmes to support the medium of documentaries, including Catalyst Awards, Impact Award, Catalyst Programme, and Mobility Awards. Puma has a history in funding documentaries with social impact. The brand recently supported the launch of environmental movie HOME, directed by Yann Arthus-Bertrand, photographer and author of Earth From Above, and produced by Luc Besson. In addition, Puma held exclusive screenings of Desert Flower, which supported International Women’s Day, and supported Peace One Day’s documentary The Day After Peace. Puma also worked with the Hawaii International Film Festival, sponsoring its Emerging Filmmaker Award in 2009.
The sport lifestyle company is one of the leading labels that designs and develops footwear, apparel and accessories. Puma brings fashion and sports together and collaborations with known designer labels include Alexander McQueen, Mihara Yasuhiro and Sergio Rossi.
