Red Pages, the International celebrity contact service, has named British fashion designer Phoebe English among the list of 100 names in film, TV, music, fashion, literature, new media, sport and politics tipped for success in 2012.

Central
Saint Martins graduate, Phoebe English is a highlight of the list after she grabbed press attention with her designs made of hair. This year, the designer was also awarded the L’Oréal Professionel Creative Award, as well as being named among Vauxhall Fashion Scout’s Ones To Watch in September.

The Red Pages Hot 100, which is now in its sixth year, also predicts big things for a number of other fashion stars in 2012, including emerging fashion designer Alicia Duncan Smith, who graduated from Kingston University this year. Daughter of Politian Iain Duncan Smith, earlier this year was selected by Vogue as a Graduate to Watch and shortlisted by Escada for her eveningwear illustration. Alicia also won a design competition with American brand Banana Republic, and is currently working for designer Katie Eary.

Other designers who also made the list are: London-based Taiwanese designer Shao Yen Chen who features traditional craft and knitting techniques in his work; American menswear designer Marlon Gobel who created a buzz at New York Fashion Week in September 2011; and Danish designer Trine Lindegaard who releases her first full menswear collection in spring 2012.

The annual list also features models Charlotte Free, Jessica Clarke, Lisa Marie Presley’s daughter Riley Keogh, Lisalla Montenegro, Roxy Horner, and Roar Global’s recent signing Amal Fashanu as ones to watch in 2012.

For the first time, Red Pages has also released a US list, which features further fashion names including up-and-coming Cuban-American designer Luis M Fernandez, and fashion blogger Emily Schuman from Cupcakes and Cashmere, who releases her first book next year.

Red Pages Editor, Gabrielle Sander said: “Each year we call upon industry insiders and our own celebrity knowledge to predict the next big things, with pretty spot-on results. Georgia Hardinge was among the fashion names tipped in 2011’s list and her year has included winning the Vauxhall Fashion Scout Merit Award, seeing her clothes on the likes of Lady Gaga and Beyonce, and gearing up to head to LA to work on costumes designs for an upcoming film.

“2012’s batch of fashion names, although perhaps relatively unknown now, are set to be familiar faces before the next year is out.”
