Scoop International pushes dates forward

Scoop International announced that they are pushing forward the dates of the 7th edition of their Autumn/Winter’14 trade show. The exhibition, which occurs bi-annual in the Saatchi and Phillips galleries, is set to run from the 19th to the 21st

of January 2014.


New dates will have a positive
influence on trade show

In a press release, managing Director of Scoop International Karen Radley, stated that the change of dates is likely to have a positive impact and “that fashion designers selling earlier in the season look likely to have an advantage over those going with later dates, with many buyers looking to commit their budgets as early as possible.” The decision to make the dates earlier was influenced by the need to give potential buyers a longer period of time to purchase their new collections. By moving their dates forward to the end of January, Scoop International is hoping to have an edge over other women’s wear trade fairs, such as Pure London, who are set to hold their show from the 9th to of February to the 11th.

The new dates Scoop International has chosen also coincide with two other main fashion trade events occurring across the channel. First in Berlin there is Panorama, running from the 14th to the 16th of January 2014. Following shortly after, Who’s Next in Paris, one of the largest fashion trade shows in France, set to run from the 25th to the 28th of January 2014. By placing their trade shows between these two intercontinental shows, Scoop International hopes to stand out from the other UK trade events. Scoop International has also added a number of new brands and lines to their upcoming exhibition, such as British brand 88 and Half, who specialize in sheepskin outwear and Danish brand Naledi, known for their eco-friendly accessory line. By offering a unique mix of international designers and labels, Scoop International hopes give their buyers and visitors access to contemporary collections not usually shown at other UK trade fairs.

Radley also described how Scoop wanted to make their visitors' experience “a seamless and enjoyable experience,” where fashion meets art. The trade show’s main concept revolves around art and fashion meshing together, meaning that all the designs displayed in their show are based around “pieces of original artworks”. That is why the fair dates also correspond with the galleries new and upcoming exhibitions. In the Saatchi gallery there will be a new display, Body Language, which is said to explore the meaning of being human through unique art works. Simultaneously, in the Philips gallery there will be an exhibition called Scoop Picks, which will showcase hand selected works of art that are meant to compliment designers exhibiting their work at the show.
