Sister by Sibling honoured by Dulux

Paint giant Dulux has announced the winners of its inaugural Let's Colour Awards, which was created to celebrate those who demonstrate the ‘most original and exciting uses of colour’. Held at the Fashion and Textile Museum last night

and hosted by journalist Hilary Alexander, the inaugural awards recognised talent across the fashion and beauty, home and interiors, technology and design, and arts industries for their use of colour over the past year.

London Fashion Week label Sister by Sibling, designed by of Joe Bates, Sid Bryan and Cozette McCreery, won the Best use of Colour in Fashion and Beauty Award for its womenswear launch displaying outlandish colour clashes - beating off designers such as Henry Holland and Louise Gray.

One of the judges, fine art photographer, Kirsty Mitchell said: "Of all the nominees for the 'Best Use of colour in Fashion and Beauty' for me personally 'Sister' by Sibling stood head and shoulders above the rest.

“Not only is their use of colour both dynamic and powerful, but the creative mediums in which these colours are brought to life through texture and pattern are both inspiring and exciting. A truly visionary brand, who deserves to be recognised with this fitting award."

Other winners included writer and editor of fashion blog, Style Bubble, Susie Lau who was named this year's Colour Ambassador, a prize which honoured her dedication to championing young designers and inspiring others through her bold and colourful fashion choices.

While the Colour Moment of the Year Award went to the producers of the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony and Philips received the Colour Innovation in Technology & Design for its groundbreaking Hue light bulb.

Marianne Shillingford, Dulux Creative Director, said of this year's event: "The Dulux Let's Colour Awards certainly got off to a fantastic start in its first year with some truly deserving winners being celebrated last night.

"With the heritage of Dulux rooted in colour we decided it was time to honour those other companies and brands which inspire us by using colour in the most creative and inspiring of ways. We hope these awards will inspire people to use colour even more imaginatively, and are looking forward to honouring more individuals and brands in years to come."
