Stella McCartney awarded OBE in Queen’s Honours List

British fashion designer Stella McCartney has been named an OBE for her services to fashion, and for designing Team GB’s kit, in The Queen’s 2013 New Year Honours List.The accolade rounds off an amazing year for McCartney,which as

well as designing sportswear with Adidas for the London 2012 Olympic Games, has also included a double win at the British Fashion Awards for Designer of the Year and Designer Brand of the Year for her eponymous fashion label, and earlier this month her brand also topped Google's annual Zeitgeist report in the UK.

This
year has also seen the Stella McCartney brand grow, with the addition of a second line of everyday lingerie, a childrenswear collaboration with the Mr Men team titled Little Miss Stella, and a new store in New York’s Soho, being awarded an OBE recognises a very successful 2012.

The Queen’s New Year Honours List, which recognised seventy-one people, also included honours for jewellery label Tatty Devine founders Harriet Vine and Rosie Wolfende, who were both awarded an MBE, as was All Walks Beyond The Catwalk founder Caryn Franklin for services to diversifying the fashion industry, and Stephen Webster for his services to training and skills in the British jewellery industry.

The 2012 honours list recognised Lulu Kennedy, Biba founder Barbara Hulanicki, and shoe designer Emma Hope.
