Temperley London names new CEO

Temperley London has named Ulrik Garde Due as its new Chief Executive Officer. Garde Due, who replaces the company’s long standing co-founder and CEO, Lars von Bennigsen, has been tasked with continuing to build Temperley as a leading independent

British luxury lifestyle label.

Former vice president of Céline and senior vice president of international sales at Burberry, Garde Due boasts an impressive CV, and most recently he was CEO for Danish luxury jeweller Georg Jensen which is currently undergoing a successful brand turnaround.

His

appointment was a “strategic decision” by the British label in their quest to drive the 14-year-old label into a global lifestyle brand, and it is hoped that his strong track record of over 20 years in developing luxury brands will help elevate the label.

Commenting on the appointment, Alice Temperley said: "This is a very exciting moment for us all - we are delighted to be entering this new era of Temperley with such a well respected executive as our new leader. Lars von Bennigsen, who will remain a major shareholder and on the Temperley Board as an Executive Director said: "I am truly thrilled that we have managed to attract a professional of his calibre to lead our company. I am very proud of what we achieved so far and am very much looking forward to seeing Temperley flourish through the next stages of growth."

Temperley London will present its Spring/Summer 2014 collection as part of London Fashion Week on Sunday, September 15.
