Tokyo Laundry, an Asian American collegiate men's fashion brand, is to launch its first womenswear collection for the spring 2013 season. The company is best known for its eastern typography mixed with an American casualwear

sensibility.
The
first women's collection will be built on its menswear offer and includes hoodies, joggers and knits, with wholesale prices starting from under four pounds for a t-shirt, through to 14.50 pounds for lined knitwear.

Rohit Passi, Tokyo Laundry’s managing director, said: “Many of our stockists are multi gender retailers and our growth over the past five years can now facilitate the enormous demand we’ve had from independents to broaden our offer to include a capsule womenswear collection for spring 13.”

He added: “We’re going to do this by staying true to Tokyo Laundry’s values and recreating the same demand from female consumers as we’ve had from our menswear collections.” Tokyo Laundry's menswear incorporates relaxed styling together with vintage inspirations and the company hopes its will have the same success with its womenswear.

The menswear range launched in 2011 and is stocked in 50 retailers including New Look and River Island.
