American fashion designer Tom Ford has been revealing details about his London Fashion Week catwalk, which he describes as “a regular, real show” for between 500 and
1,000 people. Confirmed last month on FashionUnited,

Tom Ford is to host his first full scale womenswear catwalk show during LFW in February, instead of showcasing his new collection within small private presentations, which also banned photography.

Over
the weekend, the American designer chatted to Times Magazine about his decision to change his show format, and why he felt that London was best suited to showcase his collection.

"This is going to be for 500 to 1,000 people. Photographers, bloggers - a regular, real show," said Ford.

Adding that the reason to shift to a traditional catwalk format was due to the brand’s recent expansion, "I want to show in London because I now have 100 stores worldwide. The company has jumped and I can no longer service the stores by not showing. So I have to love it and embrace it."

So why London, Ford explained, "I hope it works here [in London], because my dream goal is to raise my children here. I'm very old fashioned, When I was little, I was brought up to say, 'Hello, Mr Ford', 'Hello Mrs so-and-so', 'Sir and ma'am'. I want that for my children… I'm only here 180 days [of the year], but I like the humour, the formality, the manners, the irreverence in England."

Tom Ford’s catwalk show will take place Monday, February 18.
