Tommy Hilfiger names Avery Baker as chief brand officer

Tommy Hilfiger has promoted its chief marketing officer Avery Baker to the newly-created role of chief brand officer, as it looks to increased focus on the “global alignment, evolution and elevation” of the brand. Baker will take on the new role alongside her current position and will be

responsible for sustaining and evolving the Tommy Hilfiger brand position in the global premium lifestyle brand landscape, as well as driving business strategies that enhance global coordination and alignment across product divisions, commerce channels, brand messaging and regional markets.


Baker joined Tommy Hilfiger in 1998, holding executive posts in both the US and European offices before being named chief marketing officer in 2011. She has relocated back to Amsterdam to take on this expanded position, and will continue to work from the Tommy Hilfiger headquarters in both Amsterdam and New York.

Commenting on Baker’s promotion, Daniel Grieder, CEO, Tommy Hilfiger, and CEO, PVH Europe, said: “With over 17 years of experience with Tommy Hilfiger, Avery has incredible expertise in her field and a deep knowledge of the Tommy Hilfiger business. She is uniquely positioned to drive the business forward in an increasingly competitive playing field, and will work across the organization to help us maintain and grow our leadership position.”

PVH promotes Oliver Timm to president of PVH Europe

Additionally, Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein owner PVH has promoted Oliver Timm, president of regional management in Germany and Russia, to president of PVH Europe, country management. Timm’s newly-created role will see him overseeing all PVH EMEA country managing directors, as the company looks to strength its European operations for both the Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein brands across the market.

Timm who has been an exec within the Tommy Hilfiger Group and PVH Europe for 16-years has been given the opportunity to coordinate the European operation following his successful tenure overseeing Germany and Russia, with the German market becoming one of the leading regions for the Tommy Hilfiger brand. In his new role, Timm will divide his time between the office in Düsseldorf and the PVH Europe headquarters in Amsterdam.

Grieder, added: “Oliver has been a key influencer in driving the success of the PVH Europe business, including the recently added Calvin Klein business, and I am confident he will continue to deliver enthusiasm and share best practices across the entire EMEA market in his new position.”
