Preston-based denim brand, Voi Jeans has announced that it is expanding into the Indian marketplace for the first time. The brand has made a deal with Central, a department store that is an Indian equivalent to Debenhams, to stock inside India’s

second largest shopping centre, Hyderbad Mall.

The
products are currently only in one Central store at present, but there are further plans of expansion for Central with the possibility of rolling out another 25 stores, with the prospect of taking Voi along with them. With this in mind, Voi have set up offices in India to work closely with the UK head office to support this venture.

Especially for the Indian expansion the brand has created special pieces, which are more tailored to suit the needs of the Indian consumer, as well as supplying the core menswear pieces including denims, t-shirts, polo shirts and shirts. If the menswear range proves successful the brand will then consider introducing the
ladies collection.

Director of Voi Jeans Asif Bux commented on the move, “This year has been really successful so far for Voi Jeans, from expanding into Europe in one of the earlier quarters of the year, to now having requests from the Far East for the brand. I feel with our product, quality and price point, we have a lot to offer the consumer and expanding into India, really showcases Voi as a brand and a serious brand at that. This shows consumers that we are a brand that has a lot to offer."

Voi Jeans is also in talks with further big retailers in India, Shopper Stop and Lifestyle.

In the past year, Voi Jeans has expanded into 15 different countries, including Germany, Belgium, France, Holland, Switzerland, Denmark, Canada, Australia, Russia, Tokyo, Dubai, Cyprus, Czech Republic, and Greece.
