A unique British service called 'Let's Make it Here' has been relaunched. An initiative of the UK Fashion and Textile Association, the directory is a resourceful tool for any fashion business who want to source, manufacture and produce

their collections in the UK.

The
improved service was developed in partnership with CapitB, and whilst it doesn't endorse any specific companies, it is a free online database where any company who manufactures textiles or apparel in the UK can be listed in order to be found by designers, brands or retailers searching for production closer to home.

The database is available to all brands and retailers

The database is available to anyone in the UK or overseas to use, to search for companies that can cover all stages of the supply chain; from yarns to cloth to trimmings to clothing manufacturing, plus all relevant ancillary finishing and processing services.

The new and improved ‘Let’s Make It Here’ site is easier to use and navigate with more detailed and accurate information from an improved search functionality, extensive category listings and a detailed Google map of factories across the country.

Most of the companies listed produce garment, accessories or fabrics, but users can also search for yearns, footwear, components, ancillary equipment and service providers.

It is possible to search by category, keyword or location or refine it according to your requirements. Listed companies supply a wide range of clients, ranging from high street retailers, luxury brands and top designers to small start-ups.

The UK has hundreds of manufacturing units employing skilled workers and the UKFT iscommitted to preserving jobs and skills in a struggling sector. The database makes companies easy to find.
