Venca, specialised firm in the sale of fashion and accessories through catalogue and internet, will take its footprint beyond its frontiers, landing in Belgium and studying openings in the UK and Germany. The company, the first to sell clothes in Spain

over the Internet – where has been a solid presence for thirty years - expects to close the year with a turnover of 48 million euros, similar to the previous year, thanks to the spike in the second half of the year that has offset the declines in the first half, explained in an interview with Efe Venca’s CEO, Jordi González.

The fashion
company is part of the 3 Suisses International Group, the leading entity for catalogue sales in France and one of the largest worldwide, present in 16 countries and reaching out to more than 8,500,000 customers.

Restructuration plans begin to bear fruit: international expansion

The restructuring that started back in 2011 with the aim of prioritising e-commerce channel over traditional catalogue sales, "today is paying off," says Gonzalez, who adds that the catalogue is a costly and disruptive mean that remains unchanged once printed, while the web allows updating collections quickly .

At present , 40 per cent of the turnover of Venca comes from online sales . The company has about 700,000 customers, to whom they sell more than 1.5 million garments a year.

"Next year we will focus on consolidating the two markets (France and Russia) in which we entered in 2013, especially the Russian one given its size. Also, we will enter in Belgium and possibly elsewhere. We are mainly thinking of the UK and Germany" advanced Venca’s CEO.

Long term, Venca would not say no to opening physical stores in major cities in Spain to test this model, although in a very small number, "to give a touch of reality to a relationship that is now virtual.”
