Vionnet designers depart

French fashion label Vionnet has confirmed that current designers Barbara and Lucia Croce have “interrupted their collaboration” with the brand. The news comes following a reported falling out between the new owner Goga Ashkenazi and the sisters.

A statement from the brand added that with a less than a month until the start of Paris Fashion Week that the work on the current spring/summer 2013 collection “will be carried out by the in-house design team”, and that the brand will still be celebrating its 100th anniversary with the introduction of its Demi Couture collection.

The sisters were first hired in October 2011 by former owners Matteo Marzotto and Gianni Castiglioni, who remain as shareholders of the label. At the time, Marzotto said that they were chosen to success Rodolfo Paglialunga's two-year stint at Vionnet because they "have strong personalities and they’ve worked in international contexts".

However, since Ashkenazi's London-based company, Go to Enterprise Sarl, bought the label in May in order to accelerate the development of Vionnet, the designers haven’t been happy.

The spring/summer 2013 show will take place on September 28 and the fashion house 100th anniversary Demi Couture collection will be showcased on September 30.
