Last month Fred Perry stopped the production of the Amy Winehouse collaboration, after she suddenly passed away on July 23rd. Now, the fashion brand said it will go ahead with the Amy collection. Fred Perry received the approval
of Winehouse’s family to go ahead with the collaboration. The late singer designed collections for the AW11, SS12 and AW12 seasons. According to her father, Winehouse would have wanted the collection to be launched, as she enjoyed working on them so much.
Since 2010, the music and style icon worked with sportswear label Fred Perry. The limited edition collection featured polo’s, belts and skirts. Winehouse was passionately involved in the design process together with Fred Perry.
Proceeds from the forthcoming collection will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation. Set up by her father, which will support young people with an addiction. Several pieces from the AW11 collection are currently available on Fred Perry’s website.
