Having first featured yourbrandspace.com, the free, niche online service connecting fashion buyers to brands, last year and heard from co-founders Louisa Valvano and Samantha Bleasby about their future plans, growth has been phenomenal.

Offering such a key link between industry insiders and markets, which has proved integral, when the dawn of digital and ecommerce has forced a faster paced system, the Fashion Association of Britain, has teamed up with yourbrandspace.com to put on a series of networking events, aimed at independent retailers.

With a
successful event already taking place in Manchester in coordination with the Manchester Fashion Network, the next event in the series has been announced for Brighton on May 29th, at The Hilton Brighton Metropole. The FAB story will be told by Eric Musgrave and yourbrandspace.com founders Sam Bleasby and Louisa Valvano will be talking about the origins of the concept, how it can be used and what it could mean for the future of sourcing products.

With the event catered to both retailers, brand founders and designers alike, FAB’s Eric Musgrave hopes to replicates the successes of Manchester, “It was great to see such an enthusiastic crowd turn up for the first FAB-yourbrandspace.com networking event,” he says, “I really enjoyed meeting a good mix of independent fashion retailers, fashion brands and online retailers. It certainly proved we should be doing more of these relaxed get-togethers around the country, starting with Brighton on 29th May” he adds. This partnership sees the joining of philosophies as FAB and www.yourbrandspace.com both exist to promote, strengthen and develop the independent fashion sector, embracing both retailers and their suppliers.

Louisa Valvano, director of yourbrandspace, says “We are delighted to work with FAB and to get on the road to talk to independents about how we can help their business become stronger and more profitable. Working with the only UK trade association dedicated to the interest of the independent fashion retailer was an opportunity not to be missed as we build on our mutual desire to improve profitability and streamline the day-to-day business practices of running an indie.”
