Esteemed fashion journalist and commentator Suzy Menkes is to auction historic items of her collectable wardrobe.

Menkes, who is currently the fashion editor of the Herald Tribune and soon to be International New York Times, has been storing her fashion wardrobe since 1964. Over the years the writer has acquired many desirable pieces from the world's luxury fashion houses, with many items spanning almost half a century. Her wardrobe is most certainly of historical significance and as such will be auctioned by Christie's in July.

Items up for bidding will include original pieces from Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Givenchy, but also Ossie Clark, Celia Birtwell, Pucci and Hermès.
