British heritage fashion label Barbour has teamed up with Japanese brand White Mountaineering to launch a menswear collection for Spring/Summer 2015.

The collaborative line is said to combine Barbour's English roots with the high-tech fabrics and modern shapes that are signature of White Mountaineering. Key pieces from the collection include a new take on Barbour's waxed cotton jacket, a raglan-sleeve blouson and a short and jacket combination that is similar to Japanese artist Katsuskika Hokasia's great wave woodblock print, but inspired by UK's North Sea.

“We are very happy about the collaboration with White Mountaineering. The label is known for its innovative, technical and high-end designs. Our common collection combines the classical Barbour models with typical White-Mountaineering elements,” commented Ian Bergin, head of menswear at Barbour.

Founder and designer for the Japanese fashion label, Yosuke Aizawa said “my first memory of Barbour is when as a child, my father and I wore oiled jackets to go fly fishing. I am so delighted to have the opportunity to bring a new vision of Barbour by linking those memories I had as a child with my present self.”

Prices for the line range from 59.95 pounds for a t-shirt to 549 pounds for a parka jacket. The Spring/Summer 2015 collection comes not long after a former collaboration between the two fashion labels for White Mountaineering's fall 2014 line.
