Black Friday, officially known in the US as the discount shopping day after Thanksgiving and the start of Christmas sales, seems to be becoming a growing trend throughout Europe. Tomorrow Black Friday will launch in the UK, as a number of retailers will be offering discounts of up to 70 percent.

British shoppes are being enticed by stores like Asda, who is owned by US giant WalMart and claims that its Black Friday deals will be “earth shattering”, Amazon, who has boasted different offers every day for the past week and Jonh Lewis, who promises “hundred of offers” on its electrical range tomorrow. Very.co.uk also announced that it will be slashing the prices of items in its homeware, fashion, beauty and electrical range at 8 am tomorrow morning, with discounts up to 70 percent off.

Amazon revealed plans to double the amount of products on sale tomorrow to 2,000 items, with special “Lightening deals” offering a product discount for a limited amount of time. Christopher North, UK managing director, said: "Since we started Black Friday deals in the UK, the concept has really caught on and is now a much anticipated event in the UK shopping calender...this year we'll be releasing twice as many deals to make it easy for customers to save money on this year's must have gifts."

According to a recent data survey from Editd, data analysts for the fashion industry, top online retailers around the globe have dropped prices on 16,000 products, with more and more pre-holiday campaigns, like Black Friday, being taken on UK retailers, signaling that it is time for the Christmas Shopping spree to begin.
