Cameron Diaz has unveiled her first footwear wear collection for fall 2014 for Pour La Victoire, which features stylish boots and chic heels, just before the start of New York Fashion Week.

Last summer, the 41-year old actress was named artistic director of accessories label Pour La Victoire. She previously described her new position as a "true partnership" with the brand and was eager "to create something timeless".

Diaz admitted to Footwear News in an interview at PLV's headquarters that it was challenging at first to adjust to the fast pace of the fashion industry, despite working in Hollywood for a number of years now. "In fashion you have pre-fall, fall, holiday. You have all these little mini collections that you have to do. I can't keep track...but I'm trying to learn it. They are teaching me and I'm learning from them, and they are learning from me."

The actress hoped to "refine" and "pare down" the brands line of footwear and handbags, as she previously felt like PLV was "a little bit all over the place" and wanted to refocus the brand's image. Whilst designing her first collection, Diaz worked closely with PLV's co-founder and executive artistic director, David Giordiano. Together the pair came up with a line of footwear that is "clean" and without "too many bells-and-whistles".

According to WWD, Diaz was the creative mind who suggested lowering some of the shoes heels, changing color combinations and introducing "sexier" ankle straps and toe details, which the brand has not previously used in its footwear line. But the actress prefers to remain behind the scenes whilst working on her footwear creations and will not be modeling the shoes or attaching her name to shoes themselves.

PLV is currently best known in the US and is stocked in high-end department stores such as Neimen Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom, as well as online at Amazon, Piperlime, Shopbop and Shopstyle. Diaz footwear line price range is set to range between 250 and 500 dollars.
