Christmas Jumper Day

Cheesy Christmas knitwear has now even been given it's own day in aid of charity: today, Friday 14 December, it is Christmas Jumper Day.

Celebrity Stacey Soloman is encouraging people to wear their cheesiest Christmas jumper today, and to donate 1 pound to Age UK via the Fox's Christmas Pudding Just Giving page, www.xmasjumperday.co.uk. The money raised will be used to help elderly people across the country who might be facing Christmas alone or who don't have enough money to keep their home heated during the winter months.

But Christmas jumpers have surged in popularity as well: high street retailers such as Primark, Topshop, Marks & Spencer, New Look, Asos and Boohoo are selling sweaters with Santa, snowman or reindeer.
