London-based fashion designer Christopher Raeburn has unveiled his first collaboration with Victorinox since becoming the brand’s fashion artistic director, with a festival-themed collection.
Entitled the Festival Project, the 11-piece collection for both men and women, consists of a men’s camo festival vest and poncho, and a women’s capelet, all of which use recycled, nylon fabrics that have been designed to “project both the wearer and the environment”.
Launching alongside Victorinox’s ‘Festival Ready’ campaign, the collection also includes a tent, packable tote bags and rucksacks, a field kit, and a Swiss-army knife, the product for which the brand is famous for.
All the pieces have been designed to be as technical and functional as well as fashion-conscious, and each piece features the designer’s unique “shield camouflage” print, which is made up of the Victorinox cross and shield logo.
In addition to the collection, Victorinox has also launched a free festival app, which has been developed to be the “digital equivalent of the original Swiss Army Knife”. The smart phone app uses GPS signals to guide festival goers around the festival sites in 3D augmented reality to prevent users getting lost, as well as offering advice on what to pack, where to pitch the tent, and local weather forecasts.
