Known for pushing the boundaries of today’s window displays, department store Selfridges asked Dutch creative types Lernert & Sander to make a window installation. For their latest work, the design duo interpreted random items as designer footwear. A dust buster turns into Alexander McQueen heels, a dishwasher becomes a Chanel clog, and sewing machines remind you of Yves Saint Laurent shoes. As the duo says: “We wanted to turn stock items into startlingly smart footwear. A humorous take on fashion as an ideal escape from the daily grind.”
