British designers Anya Hindmarch and Betty Jackson have joined forces with Innocent drinks for the Big Knit 2011 campaign. Each year Innocent asks designers, celebrities and members of the public to knit a woolly hat for their smoothie bottles to raise funds for charity Age UK.

For every behatted bottle sold 25p will be donated to the charity. The hats will be on smoothies for three weeks in Sainsbury's stores from November 2, and Boots stores from November 9; so get in there quick to find Hindmarch’s black and white striped woolly hat and the navy blue hat knitted by Jackson.

Other celebrities and designers taking part this year include Sienna and Savannah Miller, and Sophie Ellis Bextor, who included a heart and red pompon on her woolly hat.

Since 2002, knitters have created woolly hats in aid of the annual Big Knit campaign, and Innocent have popped hats on 2.5 million smoothies and raised over £850,000 for Age UK - all to help older people stay warm in winter by providing information, advice and grants on issues like heating, health and hot meals. The aim for 2011 is for 650,000 hats, which will help to raise over £200,000.
