Harvey Nichols Walk of Shame

The new Harvey Nichols Christmas campaign is causing somewhat of a controversy. The ad features larger size models walking in their party dresses, the morning after the night before, i.e. doing the Walk of Shame. It depicts a young girl from a certain class, and paints the scenario with a comedic haze of vulgarity.

It is of course not an entirely untrue stereotype in Britain to see girls wearing a dress that barely covers her modesty, traveling by tube then staying out all night. One only has to venture to the countries metropolises or watch an episode of Desperate Scousewives to see it isn't far off the mark.

The real controversy lies in the idea that if you are skinny and expensively dressed and live in an elegant riverside mansion block apartment, the Walk of Shame is quite chic.
