London Fashion Week designer Henry Holland has followed in the footsteps of Karl Lagerfeld and Zac Posen by teaming up with ice-cream brand Magnum. For the brand’s 25th birthday, Holland has created a limited edition Sixties-inspired shift as the ultimate party dress.

Using the Magnum Classics ice-cream range as his inspiration, Holland created a structured, pointed collared style shift embellished with chocolate brown and vanilla sequins to mimic the cracked chocolate of the Magnum.

Talking about his creation, Holland said: “I was really excited to design a piece for Magnum to mark this very special milestone, and have certainly never had Magnum as a muse before! I’ve never even made anything in brown, so this really is unique.

“The inspiration for the dress came from the first bite of a Magnum, when the chocolate cracks revealing the ice cream underneath. I wanted to create an exquisite piece covered with embellishment that reflected the cracking chocolate and the layers of outer shell and hidden centre.”

Worth 5,000 pounds, the dress from concept to finish took three months to produce with every embellished sequin painstakingly hand stitched by the designer’s team. There are only 25 copies of the exclusive Henry Holland Magnum 25 dress, one to mark every year of the brand, and each one will be given away on the ice-cream’s website.
