British menswear designer James Long is launching an exclusive knitwear collection for menswear high street retailer Topman.

Launching November 12, the seven-piece collection features six crews and one cardigan that uses the techniques and premium materials that are synonymous with James Long’s signature knitwear, including manufacturing the whole collection in Britain using British yarns.

The range consists of mashed up arans, multicoloured tartans, double ribbed crew necks, and over sized polka dots, with selected pieces entwined with Lurex for a glam rock aesthetic.

Commenting on the inspiration for the collection, Long said: "This range was inspired by my favourite sweater-wearing musical icons such as the members of Sex Pistols, The Bay City Rollers and of course Bobby Gillespie and Keith Richards."

Long has been working with Topman for a number of years since they first sponsored his MAN show, since then the designer has progressed to NewGen Men and recently he was honoured with the inaugural BFC ‘Fashion Forward’ award.
