Kipling x Helena Christensen

Danish supermodel Helena Christensen is to make her handbag design debut with Belgian-based Kipling in September.

The model, who is no stranger to designing, having previously launched a lingerie line with Triumph, has created an 11-piece collection inspired by her photographs.

The focus of the collection is a dusky pink rose, which was capture by Christensen, which features on a number of the designs including a clutch and a tote. Other designs evoke the models innate feel for vintage fabrics, with bags featuring touches of lace print alongside classic tan leather.

Commenting on the collaboration, Christensen said: “Kipling is a brand that I have used for many years; it’s a part of my travel. Working with the design team had been a great eye-opener, understanding and appreciate all the elements to consider in order to make a bag durable and long lasting whilst having true credentials in style and being fashion led.”

The collaboration was celebrated last week in London with a party held at Beach Blanket Babylon, which the supermodel hosted.
