LFW: Margaret Howell AW12

The Margaret Howell brand is a staple fixture in London. A reliable source for discreet clothes, favouring tweeds, cottons and every day essentials, it is a collection you know that what you're going to get is something you'll wear, rather than end up in the back of the wardrobe. And this is no mean feat. At the AW12 show in her eponymous Marylebone boutique, Howell gave us the classics we'd expect: button up trench coats, boyfriend blazers, twinsets and khakis. Staple pieces that work and that we ought to update every season or so. Our favourite looks: a chunky sailor knit over a highland kilt. The British equivalent of uptown dressing.
