LFW: Topshop Unique AW12

For a high street brand Topshop Unique showed a collection of highly covetable pieces for their AW12 show. With former Vogue fashion director Kate Phelan at the helm, there was great interest in the direction of the season, as the brand is by far the fashion leader of the high street. Gone were the gimmicks from previous seasons, instead a wave of directional, cool must-haves came down the catwalk. Dungarees, military coats, outerwear with checked-blanket motifs, cross-printed dresses, tops and sweaters. Black leather and velvet and a handful of party dresses closed the show, ensuring it firmly caters to its customer, and perhaps attracting a more sophisticated shopper too.
We know the fabrics from Topshop are something to be desired, but to get this amount of detailing - leather cutouts, utlitarian accessories and attention to the finer aspects of design - these pieces will have a decent price tag and keep you fashion forward for the season.
