Topshop, now under the creative direction of former Vogue Fashion Director Kate Phelan, showed futurist minimalism on the catwalk. Perhaps with a nod to the sensibilities of Jil Sander or Prada, but there was nothing high street about this collection.

Next season's Topshop girl will be wearing predominantly pale colours, with hints of yellow and electric blue thrown in. The futurist nod, also seen at Alexander Wang, saw garments with cut-aways, where just the right amount of skin could be seen through layers of organza, devoré, and printed georgette. Elsewhere prints recalled the abstract expressionist work of Robert Motherwell's prints.

Topshop was the first high street brand to livestream their show on Facecook. More than 2 million people from 100 countries watched the online footage.
