Debuting next week, the collaboration follows Tokidoki's teaming up with brands including Karl Lagerfeld, LeSportsac and Barbie.
Tokidoki, which means “sometimes” in Japanese, was founded in 2005 by designer and artist Simone Legno and two entrepreneurial partners Poonch Mohajer and Ivan Arnold. Their love of Japanese culture has seen their characters now enjoy a cult-like status and appeared on an array of merchandise, including the upcoming London Sole shoes.
According to Jane Winkworth, founder at London Sole, the 10-piece collection was inspired by the basic theme of the tokidoki symbol, a heart with two bones.
“It has been so enjoyable and such fun developing a collection of shoes using my favorite characters as the main inspiration and so ‘sometimes’ wonderful design opportunities like this happen to people like me and I am very grateful for it,” Winkworth said.
