British accessories designer Lulu Guinness launched her limited edition Paint Project collection in collaboration with artist Joe Steele with a party at the Old Sorting Office, which saw Steele use a paint cannon to colour the designer’s trademark lip clutches.

The designer has worked with the artist to create 180 ‘Hug and Hold’ clutches, each featuring an authentic piece of artwork of Steele’s signature paint splatters in black, stone and red, and each signed and numbered by Steele and Guinness.

Commenting on the collaboration, Guinness said: "I like a challenge, and exploring innovative new techniques, so Joe and I made the perfect partners in crime. Joe is very experimental in his approach to art and he's not afraid to push the boundaries when it comes to new techniques, much like my approach to handbags. I've not come across anyone who can use paint in such an impactful way."

On the night, guests were treated to a demonstration of Steele’s explosive art, when the artist used his paint cannon to create three clutches, which will be auctioned off on eBay to benefit The Art Room, a charity that utilizes art therapy to help children.

The limited edition Lulu Guinness Paint Project clutches are priced at 295 pounds each and available to purchase in Lulu Guinness stores and online.
