MFW: Prada AW12

Was it the coat dresses, the clashing prints or perhaps the geometric embellishments that defined the Prada show? There's always more than meets the eye in a Prada presentation, and the fashion elements that will come to define next season are the new pant suits, coats that function as dresses, and the lack of dresses altogether. There were no red carpet gowns or evening frocks on show in this collection.

Muccia Prada back stage told reporters the collection was about 'pleasure.' "Everyone has a theory about their collections these days, but I'm sick of theory. This collection is about the pleasure of fashion."

One need not be brave to wear the clashing jacquards. The glory is in their cut and light fabrics, the longer length belted blazer is strangely seductive and very flattering. Who needs plunging necklines when you it's much more sexy to deconstruct the layers.
