GUCCI AW14 Frida Giannini was rocking a 60s vibe at Gucci's catwalk show on the opening day Milan Fashion Week. Glamour came in the form of clean lines and a less fussy silhouette. Sure, there was the sexy undertone we've come to expect from Gucci, but it was less overt than the House's summer presentation.
Key pieces include peacoats and jackets with cigarette pants, A-line dresses and button downs. The knee high boots featured with the eveningwear sparked a Twitter frenzy post show.
VERSACE VERSUS AW14 Versace is not a brand for minimalist and for those who like their fashion high octane yet commercial would not be disappointed with this collection.
Black leather added a rock and roll element to gold-zipped dresses and separates. There were also baroque digital prints seen a mini dresses and blousons. For men there were checked suits and striped shirts, though they were more edgy than classic.
No. 21 AW14 Alessandro Dell'Aqua sent a message of elegant tomboys down his runway for No. 21. There was masculine tailoring in the form of generously cut shirts worn with mannish trousers or a plain cashmere sweater teamed with an embellished skirt. There was enough decoration, like ostrich and sequences to keep the look feminine and fresh. Key items include a one-shoulder glittering shift dress and wool slip dresses with visible bra.
ALBERTA FERRETTI AW14 There was something otherwordly about Alberta Ferretti's catwalk presentation. The designer took inspiration from an autumnal colour palette, showing burnt oranges and fantasy forest hues on sculptural dresses, tunics and felted wool suits.
This was a collection of classic yet rich pieces with beautiful fabrics as its backbone.
