Moynat x Pharrell Williams

French luxury leather good maker Moynat is the latest in a growing list of fashion houses to collaborate with the artist Pharrell Williams.

As part of the 165 year old French label's relaunch, which saw the opening of its first store in London as well as a pop-up store in New York's Dover Street Market, owner Bernard Arnault has been busy breathing new life into the brand.

Inspirated by vintage steam locomotives and their journeys, Moynat and Pharrell Williams have developed a capsule collection which consists of handbags, small leather goods and scraves. The Train Bag, is the first item for the collection is set to be unveiled in Colette on October 13 and will arrive a week later in Moynat stores in Paris and London.

The bag, a miniture replication of a train, is said to feature a brass smokestack, ride rods and a stream-dome claps in the acrylic resin version and will be available in limited numbers for approximately 10,000 euros, or 7,790 pounds according to current exchange rates.

The ebony version is thought to retail for 3,200 euros, or 2,495 pounds. Moynat reportedly selected a specialty atelier in Italy to hand carve each train bag, which takes three days to make, and inserted the leather interior in Paris.
