His signature geometric style, which he excelled at with Balenciaga, was clearly visible, but in the spirit of the house. Using a very Vuitton colour palette of orange, brown, and sky blue, it was the sharp cutting and streamlining that made it fashion architecture.
The silhouette was inverted, with shrunken sweaters worn belted with fitted trousers or a printed bomber jacket worn tucked in a short fluted leather skirt. Empire lines and babydoll were key shapes for dresses, which saw the focus on the top half with razor sharp detailing on collars or contrasts.
Notable accessories came in the form of red boxy bags and patent booties with crisscrossed straps.
Ghesquière stated: “Louis Vuitton belongs to everyone — it is that kind of name that has so much language — my vision was of a leather coat and to narrow it down to create a wardrobe." In his show notes he said: "Thanks to all of you who have helped me to tell this new story."
