London-based tailor Oliver Brown has unveiled the official Team GB formalwear collection that the British athletes will be wearing for the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games taking place in Russia in February.

As the official formalwear supplier to Team GB, Oliver Brown will be responsible for providing more than 1,100 items of clothing to the British delegation, including 176 bespoke jackets featuring Team GB embroidery on the outside pocket.

Each piece will be tailored to each athlete and Kristian Robson, owner and creative director of Oliver Brown, will be accompanied by a team of fitters in January when the team receive their Olympic kit for the first time.

Commenting on the collection, Robson said: “Our aim was to create a collection that offered superbly tailored, quality pieces and I believe this collection showcases that. At Oliver Brown we are thrilled to be involved in Sochi 2014 and wish Team GB a very successful games.”

The collection has all been designed and sourced in the UK, and will be showcased at the welcoming ceremony in the Olympic village, at the Team GB reception, as well as other VIP events in Sochi. In addition to the bespoke navy blue suit, made from 100 percent British wool, the formalwear collection also includes a cotton shirt, and a custom Team GB suit bag. In addition, male athletes will receive a bespoke silk tie, cufflinks and socks, while women will be given a bespoke scarf.

Oliver Brown’s existing sporting presence is in horse racing, where it is the only trader inside the Royal Enclosure at Royal Ascot.
