Paris Couture: Atelier Versace

Italian fashion house Versace kicked off proceedings at Paris Couture last night as Donatella Versace returned to the Ritz Paris, 15 years after the death of her brother Gianni, to showcase her Atelier Versace autumn/winter 2012 collection.

Last season Atelier Versace returned to the Couture schedule with a presentation, its first couture collection since 2004, but last night in Paris the Italian label held two catwalk showcases.

Opened by Lindsey Wixon with Veronica Lake waves this season’s Atelier Versace collection consisted of 27 dresses inspired by the imagery and decoration of tarot cards, and powerful symbols such as the sun, moon and world.

The collection was signature Donatella Versace with canary yellow perforated leather trench coats, slim beaded dresses, bondage corset dresses, and floaty gowns flashing a suitable amount of leg, which are sure to become hits on the red carpet.
