Retailers push Christmas knitwear

Intarsia sweaters are always popular at this time of year, but retailers have embraced the festive trend, offering knitwear with quirky yuletide motifs.

Commercial Christmas prints can be found in the seasonal collections at stores such as Topshop, Asos, New Look and H&M. Trends include polar bear and ski themes, embellishment, Christmas phrases, and festive motifts, such as reindeer and santa.

Prices vary from a 35 pound acrylic sweater from Asos, to a Missoni intarsia for 500 pounds.
