British luxury leather and stationary company Smythson is taking part in this year’s Chelsea in Bloom art show celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with a floral tribute to Her Majesty’s Coronation.
Designed as an extension of its latest windows created in collaboration with British illustrator Kerry Lemon, the display recreates a quintessential English Rose garden, inspired by the photography of Cecil Beaton and the innovative style and colour palette used by royal florist Constance Spry.
Using hydrangeas, begonias and a variety of roses, soft shades of cream and pink are contrasted with touches of greenery, to produce a structured display reminiscent of Regent’s Park Rose Garden and the mazes of Hampton Court Palace.
