British designer Stella McCartney has teamed up with photography giant Canon to design a limit edition ‘Linda’ camera bag to house the Canon EOS 100D White.
Named after McCartney’s mother, the ‘Linda’ is a box shaped bag that comes in a colour combination of matte neutral tones and a metallic finish that has been custom designed exclusively for the Canon EOS 100D White, the world’s smallest DSLR camera.
The bag has been made with an eco alter Nappa leather alternative, which uses natural vegetable oil coating that is less harmful to the environment, to stay true to the designer’s vegetarian philosophy, and as well as housing a camera it can also double as an everyday handbag as it features an adjustable strap to be worn either over the shoulder or as a handheld tote.
Unveiled at the Stella McCartney Green Carpet Collection during London Fashion Week, the ‘Linda’ camera bag will be limited to a run of 1,000 and will only be sold as a package with the EOS 100D White from Harrods and Selfridges for 1,200 pounds.
Commenting on the collaboration, McCartney said: “Growing up with a mother and a sister who are photographers, I have fond memories of them pulling out cameras from their bags snapping and capturing moments.
“It was a no brainer to create a bag for this brilliant Canon camera, because it was really exciting to design something fashionable and stylish that encourages people to take photographs.”
Susie Donaldson, marketing director at Canon UK and Ireland added: “Photography and fashion have always gone hand-in-hand, with beautiful, evocative imagery at the heart of Fashion Week. For almost a decade, Canon has played an integral role in capturing the beauty, design, style and excitement of Fashion Weeks across Europe.
“We are thrilled to be collaborating with Stella McCartney, one of the most talent and admired designers, and extremely proud to be able to launch this striking piece at London Fashion Week.”
