Sunspel x J.W. Anderson finale

The London-based designer created a one-off collaborative collection for Sunspel. “The collection marks the end and celebrates the relationship,” explained Anderson to British Vogue.
“Working with Sunspel really taught me how to create basics of the highest quality and this collection is a take on classics - and using the classic elements of a wardrobe and rehashing them into something new. I followed the same organic process of experimenting on the body and cutting up and patching shapes and textures together,” he added.
The Northern Irish designer not only runs a womenswear and menswear eponymous label, but after LVMH acquired a minority stake in his fashion house last October J.W. Anderson agreed to take over as creative director at Loewe as well, leaving him without any spare time to work with Sunspel.
Anderson explained that even though his collaborative work with the heritage brand has come to an end, it taught him how to locate the right balance in his work, something he has been doing since he began working with Sunspel back in 2008.
“It's a balance, you need that. I approach each one in the exact same way. They might start in the same place but end up being something very different from each other. Keeping focused on the process at hand [is a challenge], but really it's a positive thing and you gain more from working on both.”
