Today in Milan...

The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan is one of the world's oldest shopping malls. Building works completed in 1877 and currently is home to luxury stores including Prada, Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Giorgio Armani.

Housed within a four-story double arcade adjacent to the Duomo, the street is covered by an arching glass and cast iron roof, a popular design for 19th-century arcades, such as the Burlington Arcade in London.
