Details of Vivienne Westwood's autobiography have been released, which is to be published in October.

As one of Britain's fashion icons, the fashion designer and fervent activist, has unveiled her life story for the first time to author Ian Kelly.

Since opening her first vintage clothing store with Malcolm McLaren, manager of the Sex Pistols, on The King's Road in 1970, the designer has crossed styles and eras to become an iconic figure in the world of fashion. From British punk and the new wave movement, to bikers and the royal family, Vivienne Westwood has always drawn inspiration from British history and culture, which she has enriched with political messages regarding the climate or the struggle for human rights.

Details of Westwood's unorthodox career will be unveiled in the novel. Born Vivienne Isabel Swire, the designer's friends and companions including Pamela Anderson, Naomi Campbell, Prince Charles and Julian Assange are amongst some of the people who have contributed anecdotes over the past two years of writing the book.

The book will be available from October 9th.
