Called ‘To Tommy, From Zooey’, the capsule line marks Deschanel’s first fashion design project, which she describes as “modical, bright and upbeat” and will be available in North America, Europe, Mexico and Japan.
The line reflects the “optimism and youthful spirit” of the iconic brand as well as capturing the decade in which Tommy Hilfiger made his fashion debut and features a signature Hilfiger palette of red, white and blue. The pieces come in flattering silhouettes ranging from classic coat and shirtdresses to peek-a-boo styles, with prints hidden inside the pleats for an overall aesthetic that merges crisp mod-shapes with nautical touches.
Commenting on the collaboration, Deschanel, said: “Working with Tommy on this capsule collection has been really amazing. I am a fashion fanatic and always looking for new ways to incorporate vintage, feminine pieces into my own wardrobe.
“Tommy and I share many of the same inspirations—old school music, classic films and old Hollywood icons—and his guidance during the design process helped to put a really unique twist on each piece.”
“Each piece is original and fun,” added Tommy Hilfiger. “The collection is the perfect fusion of Zooey’s adventurous style and the classic, cool, American spirit at the heart of the Tommy Hilfiger brand.”
The ‘To Tommy, From Zooey’ collection includes 16 dresses, jewellery and handbags, which will retail between 98 and 199 dollars, and will launch on April 21 on Tommy.com, as well as flagship stores around the world including the Brompton Road store in London.
