Al Mana Group to close down BHS.com on June 27

Despite recently reporting 23 percent increase in its sales for the six months ending April 28, 2018, BHS.com is closing its operations on June 27, 2018. According to a statement released by its Qatari owners Al Mana Group, the closure of BHS.com comes after a strategic review.

Final deliveries will be sent to customers by June 5, as Al Mana Group focuses its resources on its store-based businesses. While the Qatar-based Group remains fully committed to expanding and investing in BHS International, it's franchise stores and business the website was no longer a viable business. The Group added that it is in late stage negotiations with several new partners for its franchise business. A BHS company spokesperson added: "The 18 members of our BHS.com team, along with all suppliers, will be treated fairly and equitably as the website is closed down. We’d like to thank our team, suppliers and our customers for all their support over the past 20 months."

After Al Mana acquired the brand along with its e-commerce platform and international franchise stores in the Middle East and Europe, BHS.com has posted strong sales momentum. The company’s Managing Director Kevan Mallinder had attributed the positive results to the continuous effort of his 20-member team, of which many came from the defunct department store group and were employed by Al Mana Group.
