Thousands of customers at Debenhams have had their data compromised following a cyber attack on Ecomnova Ltd, the company which owns and operates flower & gifting websites, including Debenhams Flowers.

As a result of the cyber attack, approximately 26,000 Debenhams Flowers customers have had their data accessed or stolen. Following the cyber attack, Debenhams Flowers has been suspended as the high street retailer has taken immediate action to minimise the risk to the customers affected.

"We are working with Ecomnova and all relevant authorities to investigate this attack and apologise to all customers affected," said the retailer in a statement. Debenhams has made contact with all the customers whose data has been compromised, which includes steps the retailer's affected customers should take. "This incident has only affected customers of Debenhams Flowers and customers of the Debenhams.com site are not affected," added the company.

The British retailer urges any customers who suspect that they have been the victim of fraud to contact their bank or credit card provider immediately and Action Fraud, the UK’s national fraud and internet crime reporting centre.
