London-based shoe company Dune Group witnessed its sales increase 1.3 percent to 150.9 million pounds (187 million dollars) for the year ending January 30, 2016, says a Drapers report. While profit after tax jumped 8 percent to 4.7 million pounds (5.8 million dollars), operating profit declined to 6.6 million pounds (8.1 million dollars) or 1.7 percent for the year.
The report adds that the company was able to post a 2 percent rise in like-for-like sales despite challenging market conditions. During the year under review, the company undertook renovation of its eight existing stores using catwalk shopfit and opened doors to two new airport stores at Stansted and Manchester.
As a part of its international expansion strategy, which now contributes around 20 percent to the company’s revenue, Dune is now looking at expanding its footprint in the Middle East.
As per the company’s website, Dune London operates 40 standalone stores in UK, 175 concessions in the major global department stores such as Topshop, House of Fraser, John Lewis and Selfridges, and 64 franchised stores and concessions in 10 countries around the world apart from reaching out to over 130 different countries through ecommerce.
