The average e-commerce salary in the UK has increased, according to a survey carried out by Cranberry Panda, an e-commerce recruitment agency, which surveyed more than 550 e-commerce executives.
In 2015, e-commerce salaries in the UK grew by more than 11,000 pounds, Cranberry Panda found, and this year it has continued to increase by more than 2,500 pounds so far, with more than 60 percent of respondents who hadn't yet had a pay rise in 2016 stating that they were expecting one by the end of the year, while just 0.6 percent said that they believed their pay would decrease in the next 8 months.
According to Cranberry Panda, the average salary for e-commerce jobs in the UK has increased by 5 percent to 53,824 pounds per year.
The e-commerce salary survey found that men hold more senior positions than women, with 54 percent male and 46 percent female. With more men than women occupying senior-level e-commerce jobs and falling within the 70,000 pounds and above pay bracket. However, the findings also noted that for the last two years more young women have been entering the sector than men.
The recruitment agency does state that the gender pay gap is narrowing. In 2016, 13 percent of women earned between 70,000 and 250,000 pounds, while 24 percent of men were in the same pay bracket. This compares to 11 percent of women and 29 percent of men in 2015.
Additionally, 69 percent of women fall into the 25,000-70,000 pounds salary band, compared to 68 percent of men. In 2015, this was 76 percent women and 62 percent men.
