Fashion agency Four Marketing has acquired outerwear brands Penfield and Cape Heights from their chief executive and creative director James Barshall.
Barshall acquired Penfield in 2005, and picked up the dormant Cape Heights from Harvey Gross and relaunched it in 2011. Both are stocked by department stores and premium independents.
Commenting on the news, Barshall said: “This really is the ideal fit and brings together the synergies, infrastructure, experience and resources of the team at Four Marketing, which will help drive both brands forward and to achieve their potential in markets across the world.”
Barshall will stay on for the time being to oversee the transition.
Four Marketing represents more than 30 brands, including Stone Island, CP Company, Paul and Shark and Velvet by Graham and Spencer. For each of these brands, the company owns the flagship retail store together with the relevant e-commerce sites. It also owns multi-brand store 18 Montrose, which opened earlier this year.
Charles Perez, chief executive of Four Marketing added: “We are delighted to welcome the Penfield and Cape Heights brands into the Four Marketing business. They join us at a time of exciting development across our distribution, retail, and digital platforms and we look forward to embracing the opportunity to further build on the global success of each brand.”
